Our Mission

The Library of Congress has given generous funding to over 20 consortiums across the United States to promote the over 15 million digital online primary sources available. These resources are free for all teachers to use in their classroom as an innovative teaching and learning tools. Through a series of free professional development workshops and online graduate classes, Teaching with Primary Sources-Louisiana located at Southeastern Louisiana University actively engages K-12 teachers in Louisiana to share the unlimited possibilities of using digital primary sources.

We are very proud to have given workshops to over 500 teachers and pre-service teachers since 2008. They have used their new knowledge to create lesson plans and units to be used in their classroom using the digital primary sources from the Library of Congress.
